He is awake from his coma and continues further rehabilitation. · Kick off! by Aman Mittal The world is watching the Confederations Cup taking place in Brazil, but the competition has been marred by the outburst of the Brazilian population. The protests have inevitably turned violent and they have finally turned to social networking sites to complain and warn the incoming fans about next year’s FIFA World Cup. The problem had become so severe recently that the FIFA was actually considering calling off the tournament, but as football is, people have stuck together and it goes on.
Widespread demonstrations were done by fans before the opening ceremony and both the Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff and FIFA President Sepp Blatter were clearly booed by fans. Well, I don’t think anybody likes Blatter in the footballing fraternity anymore while all we wonder is how bad do people have it in Brazil. It is quite bad, in a nation where all the resources mostly financial are being extracted out of the population of Brazil by overtaxing them and overpricing the basic necessities in the name of preparation of the country for the World Cup. No wonder next year’s tourism would see Brazil flourish financially but do the people need to suffer so bad at the moment? Every decision always has some opposition, but judging by the number of protesters, I’d say the Brazilian committee got it wrong with the financial allocations.
